A.C. Special Projects LED the way at Retail Interiors & IDW Show

26th February 2004

A.C. Lighting's Special Projects division demonstrated at this year's Retail Interiors & IDW Show how far LED lighting technology has advanced in recent years.

As well as walking onto a stand lit entirely by LED fixtures, visitors were greeted by a highly visible colour-changing LED display matrix utilising one of the most technically advanced lighting products aimed at the architectural market.

The lighting matrix comprised of 120 board-mounted Artistic License Pixi-led luminaries and demonstrated that, by using a new single chip tricolour head which provides point-source RGB colour mixing, light output from LED products is now bright enough and consistent enough to be considered for applications that traditionally use incandescent bulbs.

Other major benefits of using LEDs for architectural lighting projects include longer life (up to 100,000 hours/11 years), truer more dynamic colours, lower power consumption, low heat emission, programmable and dimmable without the need for expensive dimming systems.

A.C. Lighting's Special Projects division specialise in the design and installation of LED fixtures for architectural and entertainment lighting systems.

Flagship retail projects showcased by A.C. Special Projects division at the show included Nike Town in Oxford Street and Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre.
