A.C. Lighting Special Projects Division upgrade The Electric

The Special Projects division of A.C. Lighting Limited, recently completed an extensive upgrade of the architectural and stage lighting systems at London's historic Electric Cinema in Portobello Road. Originally constructed in 1901 the Electric was one of England's first purpose built cinemas, and remains today much as it was when first built, largely due to the restoration work carried out in recent years. It is claimed the Electric is the oldest cinema building in England still being used for its intended purpose.

Located on a wooded hillside overlooking the beautiful cathedral city of Winchester, King Alfred's College was founded in 1840 and today is home to over 5,000 full and part-time students. Teacher training remains an important part of the College's provision, whilst in addition there are a broad range of courses spanning the humanities, social sciences and business. However, the fastest growing area of work is in Performing Arts. The college has made substantial investments in its core infrastructure in recent years including new IT Centres with free access to the Internet and email and a substantial, state-of-the-art extension to the College library.

Royal Albert Hall Fitted Out By A.C. Lighting

One of London's most famous venues, the Royal Albert Hall, is currently undergoing its first comprehensive programme of building development since Queen Victoria first opened the building in 1871. Scheduled to continue until 2003, the entire programme has a cost of £66.3 Million, and includes a complete overhaul and restoration of the venue's famous organ, which is the second largest in the United Kingdom. The work, which originally began in 1995, is being tightly co-ordinated to ensure that the Hall does not close for public use unnecessarily, which is quite some feat for a programme lasting 8 years, at a venue that puts on hundreds of events every year.
